Perth Sailing Club was formed in 1949 to encourage participation in the sport of dinghy sailing and to facilitate competitive sailing on the River Tay near Perth. In 2020 the Club amended its name to include a coastal rowing section

The club runs a program of events from April to October with a mix of racing, training courses, improver sessions and leisure / fun events. Racing is based on the Portsmouth handicap system allowing boats of different designs to race together. On most race days, two races are run in the immediate vicinity of the clubhouse around high tide.  On Sundays only a single race takes place.

There are also a number of longer races organised where we head down river towards Newburgh or Elcho Castle and return by sail or under tow, depending on conditions. Improver sessions are included in the schedule to allow participants from training courses and members to practice their skills, or just enjoy some time on the water without the pressure of racing.
